Duluth Police arrest second suspect in May 22 homicide

On Tuesday, Duluth Police investigators developed information as to the whereabouts of a second suspect named in the investigation of a May 22 shooting that led to the death of a 22-year-old Duluth man.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Laurel Larice Ladd in relation to his alleged involvement in the incident.

Early Wednesday, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Duluth Police investigators identified an address on East Village View Drive in Duluth’s Central Hillside as a likely location for Ladd. With the assistance of the Duluth Police Department Tactical Response Team as well as assistance and deployment of an armored “Bearcat” from the Superior Police Department he was located there and taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search warrant at the address where Ladd was arrested led to the recovery of a handgun. He was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail pursuant to the arrest warrant.

This incident remains an open and active investigation. The department is asking the community for help in locating a third suspect in the incident identified as Marcus Seville Morris. Persons with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Morris are asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force at 218-730-5050 or by calling 911.
