The Purple Pride Golf Scramble will be held Thursday, Aug. 5 at The River Golf Course in International Falls.
Registration is at 3:30 p.m., with a 4 p.m. shotgun start to nine holes of golfing. Dinner will follow.
The Purple Pride Fund, a dedicated fund of the Falls Education Foundation, said the proceeds will benefit academic and extracurricular activities in the arts, athletics and other areas within School District 361.
The Falls Education Foundation, which was established in 1992, is a non-profit which supports elementary and secondary schools within the district. In the 2020-2021 school, it awarded $32,420 in grants for items such as library books, chairs and a digital camera for the yearbook staff. Since 2015, more than $115,000 has been awarded to the district, according to the foundation’s website.
The cost to be a so-called hole sponsor at the scramble is $500 and includes a four-member team, while to field a team without hole sponsorship is $300. Individuals can participate for $75.
