CherryRoad Media — The Vikings will play host to the Indianapolis Colts in each team’s second preseason game at 7 p.m. today at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Defensive tackle Michael Pierce, who opted out of the 2020 NFL season due to COVID-19 concerns, is expected to play in his first game for the Vikings.

“Super excited. And it’s not ‘potentially’ – I’m playing in this game,” Pierce told the Vikings.com. “I’m just counting down the days and making sure I tighten everything up for Saturday. I’ve already been told. I wouldn’t say anything that [a coach] hadn’t already told me. I’m playing in this game, and I’m excited. For how long? That’s up to [Head Coach Mike Zimmer], but we’re going to give it a go and hope for the best.”

Minnesota (0-1) lost to Denver 33-6 in Week 1 of the preseason.

Indianapolis is 1-0.
