Plante collects Twin Ports high school boys hockey all-preseason awards

Hermantown junior forward Zam Plante was an unanimous selection for Twin Ports High School Boys Hockey Preseason Player of the Year, as chosen by the DuluthTimes.com.

The defending Section 7A champion Hawks placed five players on the 10-player First and Second Teams, including Plante and junior defenseman Ty Hanson on the First Team. Hermantown’s Pat Andrews was named Coach of the Year.

Plante and Hanson are elite Division I prospects.

Plante, 16, will play for the U.S. Under-18 team in the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup on Aug. 2-7 in Břeclav, Czech Republic and Piešťany, Slovakia.
