A new phase of street construction beginning Tuesday will alter access to and traffic flow around Essentia Health’s downtown medical campus.
The third and final phase of the City of Duluth’s six-month utility- and street-improvement project will close portions of Fifth and Sixth Avenues East and reroute traffic along Third Street:
Fifth Avenue East will be closed from Third Street to Second Street, except to cross to the alley to enter and exit the Green Ramp parking structure.
Third Street will be closed to west-bound traffic between Sixth Avenue East and Fifth Avenue East. Two-way traffic will be allowed along Third Street between Third Avenue East and Fifth Avenue East.
During this infrastructure-improvement project, which runs through early October, patient drop-off and pick-up will require extra time.
Patients and visitors are urged to arrive early for all appointments at the downtown campus.
