Moore, St. Scholastica volleyball team receive 2021 YAF Award of Excellence

Dana Moore and the St. Scholastica volleyball team have been awarded the 2021 Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) Award of Excellence, it was announced today.

Moore, who formerly served on the YAF Committee, has been a longtime volunteer at both the Fitger’s 5K and Wednesday Night at the Races series.

Now in her 25th season as head volleyball coach at St. Scholastica, Moore brings her players each year to serve as course marshals and in other volunteer positions.

“One of our values at St. Scholastica is community,” Moore said in accepting the award. “Our team believes in supporting not only the College’s community but also the Duluth community, which includes both Grandma’s Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation. Our involvement in events throughout the year has become a long-standing tradition, and I hope it continues for many years to come as it’s come to be a highlight for our team’s off-court activities.”

The first-ever Award of Excellence was given in 2017, thought of and created as a way to recognize and honor dedication, commitment, and service to the development and growth of the Young Athletes Foundation.
