Hermantown boys tennis team in the news

Hermantown boys tennis coach Jessica Worden says she checks every day to see how quickly the snow is melting on the outdoor courts on the school’s beautiful campus.

“Currently, someone has built seven snowmen on them,” she said earlier this week.

The Hawks finished second in the Section 7AA team tournament a year ago.

“We are looking to come into this season just as strong as last year,” said Worden. “We have great senior leadership led by our two captains, Sam Swenson and Aaron Evjen. The players this year are extremely competitive and I am excited to find out where everyone falls in the lineup. I expect us to be competitive from the top to the bottom in both singles and doubles.”

Hermantown will begin preseason workouts April 3.

“Hopefully we’ll be outdoors on our new tennis courts by then,” she said. “This will be the first season the boys team will be able to use them.”
